Documentation of my journey though 101 Things in 1001 Days!

By Kat on 3/13/2008 1:34 PM

Just a little update on my list of 101 Things to do in 1001 Days; I haven't abandoned it! I am in between about 5-10 different items on the list. I have started several but haven't completed them. For instance: I am trying to find a job that I love most of the time, I am pretty much done painting the kitchen and we pretty much have a new kitchen and living room floor. I just really, really want to try to complete these projects before I cross them off. Sounds fair, right?

In other list updates, I am reading a new book, "A New Earth" by Eckard Tolle. This is going towards #45, Read 100 Books. I really tried to keep my Car clean for a month (2/14) but 4 days before completion, I decided I was too tired to take everything in and I allowed my papers to get all scattered. I'll really try again, starting tomorrow.

Chandra and I went bowling but I haven't quite beaten a 150 at bowling (#19). I got a 115, sounds like 150 but not quite.

I've also visited a few restaurants towards my 50 new restaurants (#89). Recently, okay a while back, Special Friend, Special GF, Jay and I went to a place called Ichiban. It was delicious and expensive. We sat in a booth with a cut out in the floor so we appeared to have our legs crossed under the table, eating on cushions on the floor but it was actually just a form of a chair. I tried an avocado roll, not quite sushi but still yummy.

I've also visited a restaurant called the Trojan Horse, a Mexican restaurant called Los Rancheros and a Mediterranean restaurant called Santorini's.

Today is my 2nd in person interview for the big Dot Com Company. I cannot wait to find out if I have the job or not. I've really enjoyed the interview process and the people I've met have been exceptional. I haven't really been nervous for my interviews at all but I have been nervous about whether I'll get the job or not. I'm aware that if it's not the right thing, it won't work out but still, a girl can hope that her intuition is accurate!

Hopefully in the next few days I'll be able to officially cross a few things off!

Yesterday I completed #'s 92 & 93 on my 101 Things list. I organized my computer files AND I backed them up! Yay me!

Woo hoo! Those were some sick slides down the hill dude! This morning I woke up at 8am and made the two hour drive to the ski resort. Yes, I ditched work! Gasp! This being my first time ditching ever, (wink, wink) I wanted to have some fun. Circumstances led me to going all alone but I have decided that this was the best thing because I learned so much more than I would have if someone else was with me. I was less embarrassed when I fell, I didn't care about my outfit and I quit whenever I wanted. I tumbled down the bunny hill my first two times but after that I was doing great!

When I arrived I had just missed the first class so I had to wait two and a half hours until the next one. In the end, this ended up being better because I was able to stand and actually go down the hill without falling before my lesson, so I got to learn turns and all kinds of other things that I wouldn't have had time to learn before.

If I could pull down my pants and show you….you would see that that my knees are sooooo bruised! Yeah, I ate it. I actually ate it more in my private lesson than I did when I was going down the hill on my own. Also, when I took off my boots I found these two sores and they are icky. Those rental boots smelled so bad; hopefully it won't turn into staph infection.

I recommend learning to snowboard for everyone. I don't know if the expert snowboarder or even the experienced snowboarder would get as much of a great workout as I did. Falling and getting back up seriously works your abs and your thighs. My legs burn and my arms are also sore for some reason.

One more item knocked off of my 101 Things in 1001 Days list.

Snowboarding lunch. I couldn't eat it.

Yay! #88 on my list of 101 things to do in 1001 days is complete! Good friend KC decided to make a list of her own! Lucky for me she has a few things on her list that we might be able to cross of together.

I really wish that more of my friends would make a list. It has given me direction and made me find things that might make me a better person and help me find things that I enjoy and might not have tried before. For instance; last night Chandra and I went bowling and we had a great time! I am trying to cross off #19 (break a 150 at bowling). This is much harder than it looks! Last night I scored anywhere from the 80's to 115! Generally I have a hard time breaking 100 but now I know I can do it at least 1 out of 2 games.
I also almost have my closet totally organized. This weekend I purged thousands of dollars worth of clothes in almost every size imaginable. I am going to try to take them to a consignment shop, sell some on Ebay and then give the rest to Goodwill. With the money from the clothes, I am going to repay our bank account for these shoe organizers and drawers for the closet. What do you think? After this and after I find something to organize my purses, I will be able to cross off #37 (Organize the closet). Also, I will be going snowboarding on Friday so #86 will be gone on Friday!
